About Vecta

Vecta is building the financial command centre for people who take their money seriously. We connect banks, brokers, superannuation and cards into one live view, then layer a personal AI agent on top so customers can ask questions, spot anomalies and understand their full picture without hopping between apps.

We are an Australian company (O&C Technology Pty Ltd, trading as VECTA AI) building for CDR Open Banking first, with global expansion planned. The product is read-only by design. We never move money. Security, consent and clear explanations are part of the product, not afterthoughts.

You will join an early team with high ownership. We ship carefully in a regulated space, prefer evidence over slogans, and care about latency, reliability and trust as much as features.

About the role

You will build the customer-facing Vecta platform and the services behind it. That means a polished web app, solid TypeScript APIs, and tight collaboration with design, product and AI so insights feel fast and trustworthy. You will work on real financial data flows, consent states and usage metering, not throwaway demos.

Key responsibilities

Design, build and ship features across the web app and backend services in TypeScript
Implement secure auth, billing hooks, credit usage and account linking flows
Build performant dashboards for balances, transactions, holdings and net worth
Integrate with internal APIs and third-party providers (CDR/Open Banking partners, brokers)
Improve reliability: error handling, observability, tests and CI quality gates
Partner with design on interaction details and with AI/product on agent-facing UX
Review code, raise the engineering bar and help shape our early architecture

Qualifications

5+ years professional software engineering experience
Strong TypeScript skills across React and Node (or equivalent modern stacks)
Hands-on experience with Next.js or a comparable full-stack React framework
Comfortable designing REST/JSON APIs and working with PostgreSQL or similar databases
Experience shipping production SaaS with auth, payments or multi-tenant data
Clear written communication and the judgment to work with incomplete requirements
Based in Australia or able to work overlapping Australian business hours

Nice to have

Fintech, Open Banking/CDR or brokerage data experience
Familiarity with Prisma, Redis/queues, Stripe or Clerk/Auth.js
Experience with streaming UIs or chat-style product surfaces
